Items required to for this to work –

1. Carista ODBC Adapter
a. https://caristaapp.com/adapter
2. IFTTT Account
a. Use this IFTTT app
b. https://ifttt.com/applets/89505239d-track-your-car-trips-in-a-google-spreadsheet
3. Google Account
4. Dash app for your Smartphone

There are other ODBC adapters that might work
From my experience, this one will work
The first time initiallizing the ODBC adapter can take several minutes.
Your Smartphone will need to switch to Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) mode to talk to Carista

1. Plug in Carista Adapter to your vehicles ODBC port
2. Download Carista app onto your smartphone
3. Turn over engine
4. Open Dash app
5. It should start the autodiscovery feature automatically
6. If not click on Drive Icon at the bottom enter of the screen
7. After the device has been discovered and connected, you are ready to go

Using the IFTTT app mentioned at the top of the notes will automatically log all trips to a Google Docs spreadsheet. The description field you enter the comments for the trip to not transfer to the Google spreadsheet. The spreadsheet created on your Google Account will be titled “Trip Logs”. You can use Column T to assigned a comment to each trip logged.

The applet on IFTTT says it runs in about an hour. I have had trip results recorded in as little as 5 minutes after the engine has shut off. It may take longer depending your particular situation.
