1. Important CLI commands to remember
a. pihole -up – Update Pi-Hole (not possible in GUI at this time)
2. Using Alternate DNS server
a. Settings, DNS
b. Deselect Current DNS options
c. Enter 1.1.1.1 under Custom 1 IPv4 DNS
d. https://docs.pi-hole.net/guides/dns-over-https/ on how to implement dns over https
3. Change PiHole hostname
a. SSH to Pi-Hole Rpi
b. Sudo nano /etc/hostname
c. Press i (lower case i)
d. Replace existing hostname with the one you want to use
e. Ctrl-X
f. Enter Y
g. Reboot pi-hole server
i. Sudo reboot
h. SSH to pi-hole server
i. pihole status – verify that all pihole services are running
4. Logging
a. Disable
b. Use log2ram and move logging off of SD card
