How to Setup the Amazon Echo Wall Clock

  • Should this clock be a part of your Smart Kitchen or Smart Home ?
  • YES YES YES

This is the perfect gift for the cook in your life, let Alexa give you a visual indication when you need to tend to something cooking in the kitchen.

How to setup the clock

  1. Unpack Clock
  2. Install batteries
  3. Ask the Alexa device  that you want to pair the clock with “Alexa, setup up my Echo Wall Clock”
  4. Follow the directions and it should be up and running within a few minutes

The beauty of this clock is that it works with even the Gen 1 Alexa devices (I know, I have one)

The display will show the status of the current timer that you have running.  It will even flash when a scheduled Alarm goes off.

NOTE:  Do not adjust the clock manually to setup the site, this will happen automatically during the setup process.

The LED just above the 6 on the clock tells you the current status of the clock, if the batteries need to be changed, a notification needs to checked, etc.

In my use so far, I have noticed the following –

  1. When an incoming call shows up on Amazon Connect, the alert LED doesn’t start blinking until after the call has hung up.  It then only blinks a few times.
  2. When Alexa starts flashing the ring with a shipment notification, the Echo Wall clock doesn’t trigger the Alert LED.
  3. Would be nice if there was an option to link via Wifi.  I know that would be more of a drain on the battery but there might be ways to deal with that.  Would result in longer range from Alexa device it is “paired” to.
  4. Be able to create a clock “group” so that multiple clocks could go off so that you didn’t have to be in the same room as the paired device.  This would probably require Wifi since doing a one to main pairing in Bluetooth, especially with older Alexa devices where multi device pairings might be a little tricky
