You will use IFTTT to link Garadget to Cortana. Two different applets will be created, one to open the door and one to close the door. These instructions assume that you already have Cortana setup as a service with IFTTT.
Open Door
1. Login to IFTTT (create an account if you don’t already have one
2. Click on My Applets
3. Click on New Applet
4. Click on +This
5. Type Cortana in search box
6. Click on Cortana
7. Click on Say Simple Phrase
8. Enter “Open Garage Door”
9. Click on What you Want Google to say
10. Enter “Closing Garage Door”
11. Click on Create Trigger
12. Click on +that
13. Type Garadget in search field
14. Click on Garadget
15. Click on Connect
16. Enter your account credentials for Garadget
17. Click on Allow
18. Click on Open Door
19. Select the door you want to open if you have multiple controllers
20. Click on Create Action
21. Click on Finish
Close Door
1. Click on My Applets
2. Click on New Applet
3. Click on +This
4. Type Cortana in search box
5. Click on Cortana
6. Click on Say Simple Phrase
7. Enter “Open Garage Door”
8. Click on What you Want Google to say
9. Enter “Closing Garage Door”
10. Click on Create Trigger
11. Click on +that
12. Type Garadget in search field
13. Click on Garadget
14. Click on Connect
15. Enter your account credentials for Garadget
16. Click on Allow
17. Click on Open Door
18. Select the door you want to open if you have multiple controllers
19. Click on Create Action
20. Click on Finish
Let things site for a couple of minutes to give things time to sync up and you should be ready to test.
