1. Inventory what you want to keep power supplied to
a. Start with recording the power, amperage and watts on each devices power supply
b. Plug devices into P3 Kill A Watt energy monitory device to determine actual energy draw
2. Level 1 solution
a. UPS with twice the capacity of what you want to supply power to
b. Surge protector strip to supply power to devices without using all of the outlets on UPS
3. Level 2 solution
a. Takes Level 1 solution and builds upon it
b. Select Pure Sine Wave Inverter with twice the capacity of what you are trying to protect
c. Select a deep cycle marine battery with at least a 90 amp hour rating
d. Select a “smart” charger that can charge the deep cycle without damaging it
e. When you loose mains power,
i. unplug UPS from wall
ii. Turn on inverter
iii. Plug in UPS to inverter
4. Level 3 Solution
a. Level 2 solution with auto switchover from mains to inverter when power fails
