How to protect your NameCheap.com account with Two Step Authentication

The more accounts you have, whether it is for devices that required a cloud account in your smarthome or a social media service that you use, the increasing importance that you have a strong password (difficult to guess) and possibly using two factor authentication. In this episode, I should you how easy it is to setup and use two factor authentication with Namecheap.com, a domain name registrar.

SMS 2FA

Login to namecheap.com
Click on yourname
Click on Profile
Click on Security
Click on Manage to the right of Two-Factor Authentication
Click on Enable under SMS
Enter contact name, phone number and Namecheap password
Click on Next
Take number receive on phone and enter in verification code field
Click on Save Changes

Soft Token

Login to namecheap.com
Click on yourname
Click on Profile
Click on Security
Click on Manage to the right of Two-Factor Authentication
Click on Enable under Authentication app
Enter namecheap.com password
Click on continue
Save one time use codes to notes field in BitWarden
Click on Next
Open of 2FA app and scan QR code
Take token value from 2FA app and enter in Verification field
Click on Finish

Hardware Token

Login to namecheap.com
Click on yourname
Click on Profile
Click on Security
Click on Manage to the right of Two-Factor Authentication
Click on Enable under Device Authentication (U2F)
Enter namecheap.com password
Click on continue
Save one time use codes to notes field in BitWarden
Click on Next
Enter name of Hardware Token
Click on Register
Tap on Token button when prompted
Click on Allow to allow namecheap.com to get some info from token
Click on Finish
