1. Start VirtualBox
2. Click New
3. Enter name of VM being created i.e. Mint
4. Set path/directory for VM files
5. Set Type to Linux
6. Set version to 2.6/3.x/4.x (64 bit)
7. Click Continue
8. Set amount of Ram i.e. 4096
9. Click on Continue
10. Click on Create
11. Click on Continue at VDI screen
12. Click on Continue at dynamically allocated screen
13. Enter size of drive i.e. 25 GB
14. Click on Create
15. Click on Settings
16. Click on Network
17. Change Network 1 adapter to Bridged Adapter
18. Click on Display
19. Enable 2D and 3D acceleration
20. Click on Start
21. When pop-up window appears, select name of Mint ISO file
22. Click on Start
23. When Mint desktop appears, click on CD icon titled Install Linux Mint
24. Select English and click on Continue
25. Select keyboard layout and click on Continue
26. Check box to install 3rd party software for graphic and hardware
27. Click on Continue
28. Click on Install Now
29. Click on Continue
30. Select timezone and click on Continue
31. Enter name, username, password and click on Continue
32. Click on Restart Now button when prompted
33. Make sure that install ISO is no longer attached and press Enter key to continue
34. Enter password for user and press enter
35. Click on Virtualbox menu – Devices
36. Click on Insert Guest Additions ISO
37. Shortly, A mounted CD icon should appear on the desktop
38. Click on Run when prompted
39. Enter password for user when prompted
40. Press Return when prompted to close install Windows for Guest Additions ISO
41. Right click on Guest Additions ISO and click on Eject to dismount ISO
42. Take a few minutes to do a base snapshot in case you need to fallback to where you started
