Etcher
Downloading of HA Image
- Download version of Home Assistant for your version for Rpi
- Download and install Etcher on your computer
- Insert MicroSD card (using adapter) in computer
- Open Etcher program
- Select the HA OS to install
- Select the SD card to install HA OS on
- Start the image burning process
Setup RPi
- Install Heat Sinks on RPi board
- Install RPi board into case
- Insert Micro SD card into slot on RPi
- Connect Power Supply to RPi
- Connect RPi to Internet Router
- Allow about 20 minutes for RPI to boot up and download any updates
You should be able to access your new HA device using this URL – http://hassio.local:8123
If you don’t get a web page, going into your internet router and look for the latest IP address to have been handed out and use that address – http://192.168.0.25:8123 (for example). While you are at it, go ahead and setup a DHCP reservation for your Home Assistant Rpi so that it will get the same address everytime.
