How to setup MyCroft on Raspberry Pi

What is MyCroft ?  An open source voice assistant that is community supported.

To setup MyCroft, you will need the following –

Raspberry Pi 3/3+
8 GB SD card
Power supply for Rpi
Supported Microphone
Supported speaker

Etcher.io software to burn MyCroft image to microSD card

Get MyCroft Rpi image here –
https://mycroft.ai/to/picroft-image

2 GB MyCroft image will take about 10 minutes or more to download depending on the speed of your internet connection
Etcher will take about 10 minutes to burn image onto Micro SD card

Connected hdmi monitor and usb keyboard to RPi
Connect network cable only if you don’t have wifi available
Plug in power supply and watch Rpi boot up
Answer the onscreen prompts (take the default values if not sure)

Skills to add to to start with –
Have MyCroft tell you when it has finished booting and is ready to go to work

Click on Add button from this page
Allow about 2 minutes for this skill to be installed when doing it this way
When you hear “You can get started with MyCroft” or
“I have now finished booting up”, “I am now ready”, you are ready to go
